About Lynne Berrett and New Frontiers in Wellbeing

.Lynne Berrett has brought all of her previous careers to this project. She began as an academic in English Literature and Humanities, teaching at universities in New York and Michigan. In mid-life she went back to school to earn an MSW in clinical social work at New York University. She completed a post-graduate Regents certificate in Gestalt Psychotherapy. She worked as a HEOP staff member and special counselor for at-risk college students at Manhattanville College in Purchase NY for over 25 years while building a full-time private psychotherapy practice for adults and couples. In her late
60’s, she added coach training through MentorCoach and was on the Leadership team of their Alliance for Positive Psychology from its founding in 2006. In her mid-70’s, moving toward retirement, she discovered Second Life, a virtual social platform, where
she founded Whole Brain Health, a holistic program for healthful aging.

Over the past 10 years, she and her team there have become widely recognized for their innovative approach to lifelong learning through immersive activities. The pillars of the program are informed self- care, positive social interactions, creative opportunities, cognitive challenges, and meaningful activities. Lynne has taken active roles in nonprofit and educational consortiums in Second Life and been awarded recognition
for her educational leadership in the Metaverse. Whole Brain Health and her private grid, Virtual Learning Village, are virtual arms of the Ageless Mind Project.

The first version of New Frontiers in Wellbeing was developed in Second Life in 2016. It is based on Positive Psychology research into character strengths and holistic educational practices. Lynne is developing it for our new Creative Sparks platform.
